Distance Learning and Education Director manages administrative functions of the distance learning program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Distance Learning and Education Director leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Distance Learning and Education Director requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Distance Learning and Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Summary

    EFC seeks talented candidates who have an interest in education beyond direct instruction and classroom teaching. Learning Guides will provide in-person, on-campus support to students. We seek Learning Guides who have a good understanding of building student executive functioning skills and motivation across elementary and middle school grades. Learning Guides have a naturally inquiring mind and excellent problem-solving skills. Learning Guides exhibit cultural sensitivity, empathy, and strength of character to build relationships with adults and children. They have an aptitude for working in a highly collaborative environment. They are responsive to changing requirements and priorities. And, they have an ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrating resilience and perseverance.


    Responsibilities:

    • Case management responsibilities for 15-30 students
    • Responsible for monitoring students in-person while students are working independently
    • Goal setting and work plan development in the following areas:
    • Monitoring student progress data
    • Monitoring student engagement
    • Coaching and mentoring students
    • Communications with families and teachers
    • Analyze data from content providers to identify areas of additional support; communicate with teachers as appropriate
    • Collaborate with teachers to support instructional programming based upon data findings
    • Assure the safety and well-being of assigned students
    • Maintain regular communication with students and parents, including supporting with translation
    • Responsible for monitoring work completion via online student reports
    • Review goals and performance with students on a weekly basis
    • Work collaboratively with the IT team to address IT challenges
    • Consistently maintain work habits, appearance and behavior that serve as a model for students
    • Other related duties as assigned


    Qualifications:

    • Excitement about EFC’s approach and school culture.
    • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Successful experience supervising and working with children in a TK-12 school setting.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, guardians, and staff.
    • Strong computer skills (e.g. Zoom, Google Suite, etc.).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals, exhibit flexibility and drive results in a fast paced environment.
    • Understands class and cultural backgrounds of families.
    • Thinks and acts in ways that respect ethnic, cultural and language diversity.
    • Spanish bilingual preferred.
