Distance Learning and Education Director manages administrative functions of the distance learning program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Distance Learning and Education Director leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management.       Position: Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning

      Qualifications:

      • Education Level: Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership and/or Curriculum and Instruction from an accredited College or University.
      • Certification: Valid Missouri teaching certificate (Building principal certification preferred)
      • Experience Desired:

      • Minimum of three years leadership experience at the building and/or district level
      • Demonstrate success in building and maintaining positive, collaborative culture and relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
      • Applicants must possess and demonstrate a deep knowledge of curriculum and instructional design including best practices in assessment
      • Applicants must have experience analyzing multiple data points in order to inform instruction
      • Applicants must be familiar with the Missouri Learning Standards, preschool through 12th grade, across multiple content areas
      • Applicants must possess and demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills
      • Applicants must have experience working with adult learners. This includes facilitating teams and providing district level professional learning aligned with district goals and initiatives
      • Applicants must support the Mission, Vision and Values of the Willard Public School District
      • Building Principal Experience preferred

      General Summary: The Assistant Director of Learning shall be responsible for supporting the implementation of best instructional practices and curriculum design in order to ensure district-wide alignment and equitable experiences for all students. The Assistant shall aid the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning in ensuring consistent implementation of standards-based instruction and researched-based best practices in order to support student growth for all learners. The statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual assigned to this job.       Performance Responsibilities:

      • Provide support in the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional programming to ensure academic growth for all of our PreK-12 students.
      • Collaborates with the Curriculum Department in order to plan and deliver our district’s new teacher training program.
      • Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator to include state and local assessments; includes district assessment plan, data analysis (i.e. NWEA, MAP, DRA, etc.) and action planning.
      • Facilitates development of curriculum, instruction and assessment for Willard’s Summer Discovery program PreK-12.
      • Collaborates with the curriculum department in the development and delivery of professional learning opportunities to ensure best instructional practices and supports for all learners in the Willard School District.
      • Provide oversight to the following district programs: Library Media Specialists, Tiger Tales and Instructional Excellence.
      • Supports the implementation and sustainability of district level initiatives.
      • Perform all duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
