Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. May evaluate and select transportation or freight services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Who we are looking for:

    TORQ Distribution is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, driven, hungry-for-growth sales leader who is capable of relationship building, outside sales territory development and wants an opportunity to join a growing company. This position will service an established sales territory in Champaign and surrounding areas consisting of independent garages and new car dealerships in the area.     • Find and develop new business relationships, while strengthening relationships with existing clients
    • Present, promote and sell products/services using proven strategies, techniques and information to existing and prospective clients
    • Reach out to client leads through cold calling
    • Meet with clients to address concerns & opportunities, and provide solutions
    • Demonstrate consistent sales abilities through meeting objectives set by the company
    • Forecast and report incoming business activity on a routine basis
    • Work within the organization and industry to keep fully abreast of new products or product applications that can further support our company or our customers
    • Coordinate client visits and or arrange for product demonstrations, as necessary
    • Create and conduct sales and general information presentations
    • Ensure current customer satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to problems, concerns or needs
    • Be accountable and aware of the financial activity within your book of business
    • Collaborate with team members, manager and other departments when necessary

    Skills you will Need:

    • Preferred BA in Business, Marketing or a related field
    • 1-3 years of sales experience preferred, but not required
    • Curious nature and the willingness to be coached for improvement
    • Self-motivation to improve your career and financial goals
    • Must have a strong initiative and competitive nature
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Teams is a plus
    • Excellent client service skills
    • Attention to detail
