Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Manager monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Manager utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Distribution Manager oversees all aspects of distribution operations. This role involves cultivating and maintaining strong customer and vendor relationships, as well as designing and upholding distribution policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Proficiency in various field-related concepts, practices, and procedures is demonstrated, drawing upon prior experience and sound judgment to strategize and achieve objectives. Responsibilities include a diverse range of tasks, including leadership and employee coaching. This position demands a high level of creativity and autonomy. Central to the role is the timely dispatch of goods to designated destinations, ensuring accuracy and fulfillment of quantities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Assists leadership in supporting departments (R&D, Operations, FSQA) with all operational functions.
· Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for distribution processes as needed to satisfy Corporate, plant level, and customer needs.
· Ensures optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations.
· Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Develops and maintains strong customer and vendor relationships.
· Assists corporate teams and vendors with planning and executing efficient transportation.
· Assigns work and monitors productivity to ensure a high standard of quality, accuracy, efficiency, and housekeeping.
· Ensures the timely, accurate, and damaged-free handling of finished goods are accomplished while adhering to safety and quality standards (SQF).
· Promotes safety in work processes and employee performance by supporting company safety programs, attending safety meetings, and following the monthly safety-training schedule.
· Cultivates a team-oriented environment focused on action and results.
· Leads, recognizes, develops, and conducts routine performance discussions with supervisors and other direct reports.
· Exhibits robust skills in problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
· Ensures that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department are consistently met. Establishes and executes action plans for areas of opportunity and provides timely coaching to supervisor(s) and employees, as appropriate.
· Assists with addressing employee relations issues that arise in the assigned functional areas.
· Carries out developmental coaching and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
· Maintains clear and open communication with the Plant Manager and responds quickly to requests and feedback.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· BS/BA or equivalent is preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a logistics/distribution leadership position
