Distribution Center Manager manages the overall planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Primary Objectives and Expectations:
We are seeking a highly motivated warehouse General Manager to rapidly grow Distribution Services as a leading 3PL provider at our clients new 780,000 Distribution Center in Savannah, Georgia. You will lead a team of Supervisors and Associates. You will take a KPI driven approach toward achieving operational objectives and production targets. Your expertise in labor management/efficiency, logistics, team leadership, and inventory management will drive our warehouse's success.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally with Inventory Control, Supply Chain, Production Planning labor Management and logistics teams to solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and to achieve targets.
You will also be managing the3PL client growth and satisfaction and play a lead role in selling and client acquisition.
Principals Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Warehouse General Manager, you will report to the President of Distribution Services.
You will develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability while considering P&L implications.
Foster and manage 3PL client acquisition and onboarding including developing and implementing strategies to build and maintain a best-in-class 3PL client experience.
Collaborate with finance teams to establish budgets, track expenditures, and monitor financial performance against P&L targets.
Manage daily operations through Key Performance Indicators (KPI), problem solving and driving continuous improvement to achieve the KPI targets
Coach and mentor, the associate managers on standard work, problem solving and continuous improvement and effectively manage their performance
Identify cost-saving opportunities within warehouse processes, supply chain, and inventory management to positively impact the P&L statement.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and prevent stockouts, aligning inventory levels with financial goals.
Utilize demand forecasting data to align inventory levels with projected demand, ensuring an optimal balance between stock availability and P&L objectives.
Negotiate terms with suppliers and vendors to secure cost-effective pricing, terms, and conditions that positively affect the P&L
Regularly analyze P&L data, financial reports, and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Develop process and ensure accurate raw and finished material inventory cycle counts
Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality against aggressive production targets
Create and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety, quality and cost through communication, action, and accountability
Training and development of associate managers, supervisors, leads and associates
Conduct daily process audits to ensure compliance of the team to established standards, policies and procedures for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Oversees the enforcement of all government regulations related to each of the warehouse operations and transportation operations including but not limited to US Customs, OSHA, or Safety and Health Administration and other governmental agencies.
Requirements:
B.A. in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, or related field; Or equivalent work experience preferred
Demonstrated experience implementing Agile, SCRUM or Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations.
6 years min as a material handling/logistics, supply chain manager in a high-volume distribution environment.
Proven record of accomplishment of achieving quantifiable improvements in operational efficiency, cost savings, quality enhancements, and team development.
Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire, mentor, and develop a diverse team of associates, supervisors, and managers.
Proficiency in analyzing complex workflows including leveraging data to identify bottlenecks, and implementing streamlined processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Ability to foster and develop a dedicated team of material handling personnel & leaders
Ability to maintain a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing operational standards and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment and build effective cross-functional relationships.
