Distribution Center Supervisor supervises daily planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees one or more of the distribution center functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Supervisor monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Supervisor utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Distribution Center Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Distribution Center Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Food Bank of Iowa seeks a motivated distribution center worker for our Des Moines facility. Weekday shift, 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime. Primary duties include pulling orders for our partner food pantries and feeding sites; safely operating equipment; and receiving, unloading, warehousing and documenting product. This role also assists in maintaining a clean, safe, orderly warehouse. This is a fast-paced job ideal for someone who likes to keep moving throughout the day. The ability to consistently lift or move 60 pounds and work inside freezers and coolers is required. Knowledge of distribution center operations and procedures is preferred; previous grocery or warehouse experience is a plus. Collaborative working environment.
