Distribution Center Supervisor jobs in New Jersey

• Coordinates the day-to-day activities to ensure that goods are moved, handled, stored safely, and correctly and in accordance with established schedules and inventory lists.
• Prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that targets are met.
• Reviews MRP of service parts to maintain inventory levels to meet requirements.
• Issues, reviews open purchase orders to maintain inventory levels.
• Continuously monitors the use of equipment (forklifts, pallets jacked and conveyors) to ensure that safety standards are upheld. . Trains new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards. . Prepares documentation and maintains files/records as required. May operate material handling equipment, as necessary.
• Keeps parts and stock area neat, organized, and clean.

• High school diploma or GED and five years of warehousing/shipping/receiving experience including a minimum of one year of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with high volumes of materials/finish goods of various sizes. Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Organized and detailed oriented
• Ability to provide clear work instructions and manage employee performance.
• Ability to use standard warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack and hand truck)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet demands.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability build strong internal relationships.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Deep Understanding of ERP and MRP system

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
• Requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift boxes/materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Requires telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interactions with other employees and customers.
• Ability to read, write, listen, and communicate effectively.
