Distribution Center Supervisor supervises daily planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Join Marco Industries as we launch our new distribution center in Apopka, Florida! We are seeking a skilled Distribution Supervisor to oversee operations and assist with the opening of our new distribution center.
The anticipated start date is June 1, 2024, and the selected candidate will undergo a mandatory three-week training period at our Tulsa, OK facility.
Position Summary:
The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipping, receiving, and inventory management operations within Marco Industries' Apopka, Florida distribution center. They play a critical role in ensuring efficient and accurate movement of goods and materials. This position provides coordination and support across the Marco organization to improve operational efficiency and ensure high quality customer service. This position works closely with all departments in Operations as needed.
Requirements
• Degree in Business or related field or minimum of four years’ experience supervising shipping and receiving in a factory/warehouse
• A valid driver’s license.
• Proficient with modern business systems including MS Office, Email, and general ERP systems.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to obtain a license to operate a forklift or lift truck. Prior experience with forklifts is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional extended hours and potential weekends may be required as job duties demand.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Maintains inventory physical and systematic accuracy by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Responsible for custody and safekeeping of inventory.
• Oversees inventory by acceptance of received products and materials from receiving and production teams.
• Responsible for conducting counts of stored materials in daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and forwarding relevant information to Purchasing for inventory control, Production for raw material availability, and Distribution for product availability.
• Manage, monitor, and consolidate storage to allow maximum utilization of space.
• Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling requirements enforcing adherence to best practices, advising management on needed actions.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring best practices for inventory control.
• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with Company systems.
• Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; and requesting work orders for repair, requisition, or replacement.
• Ensures all employees are actively following all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
• Maintains Distribution staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains Distribution staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Monitors and reports employee hours to comply with payroll requirements and company business needs.
• Communicates with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Distribution, and Management as needed to facilitate the flow of information within the Company and for Customers.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is responsible for supervising one Distribution Handler.
