Distribution Clerk performs a variety of clerical, customer service, and administrative duties to support operations of a distribution center. Monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels are available to fulfill all orders. Being a Distribution Clerk ensures that all required paperwork, including labels, packing lists, and transport instructions, is prepared. Utilizes tracking systems to input or look up information. Additionally, Distribution Clerk complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Distribution Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to maintain and change out meters and systems and ensure water flow is online. This is accomplished by completing work orders, repairing meters and associated equipment, digging out boxes, changing out meters, programming and ensuring meters and transmitters are communicating with the Automated meter infrastructure, and answering questions from customers. Other duties include maintaining vehicles and tools, inspecting meters for water leaks, back filling areas, and reconnects.

This position is subject to being called in to work twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, in addition to their regularly scheduled work day.
This position is expected to regularly work in or around bodies of water greater in depth than 4 feet, which may pose hazard, especially in the absence of swimming ability.
Basic experience with the use of PC systems and the ability to comprehend new hand-held technology, i.e. Cell phones, GPS, GIS, PDAs, Mobile Tablets, and Digital Cameras.

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 H Install and maintain meters and transmitting equipment by digging out boxes, pumping out water, checking old meters, service lines, seals and house lines, checking for damage, installing, checking, and programming new meter and transmitter installations ensuring they are working properly using computerized handheld equipment, back-filling areas, and completing paperwork by hand and/or on mobile tablets via a comprehensive work order management system.
3 M Reconnects water by locating water meters, verifying meters and transmitters are working properly with the Automated Meter infrastructure using computerized handheld devices, checking for leaks, inspecting lines, and verifying connection with customers.
4 V Assists workers with large meters by assisting with tools and equipment, digging out meter boxes, torching bolts, preparing water lines, assisting with digging when required, working with customers and notifying them of temporary water turn off, ensuring gaskets fit meters, and installing and activating new meters and transmitters using computerized handheld equipment verifying proper functionality with the Automated Meter Infrastructure.
5 L Reconditions meters by cleaning, sandblasting, washing and drying meters, taping meter ends, blasting the meter, wiping off sand, painting, checking pressure, and placing the meter into inventory using computerized equipment.
6 L Maintains the shop by cleaning and sweeping flows, picking up trash, organizing supplies, dusting materials, straightening shelves, cleaning mop buckets, and ensuring entries are locked.
