Distribution Clerk, Sr. jobs in Carrollton, TX

Distribution Clerk, Sr. performs a variety of clerical, customer service, and administrative duties to support operations of a distribution center. Monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels are available to fulfill all orders. Being a Distribution Clerk, Sr. ensures that all required paperwork, including labels, packing lists, and transport instructions, is prepared. Utilizes tracking systems to input or look up information. Additionally, Distribution Clerk, Sr. complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Distribution Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.   • Responsibilities


    Accounts Payable

    • Match vendor invoices to purchase order receiving in order to process invoices for payment accurately and timely.
    • Code expense invoices with the appropriate general ledger account number to ensure expense is coded to the correct location
    • Process of invoices for vendors paid via wire transfer
    • Generate checks for paying vendor invoices
    • File voucher packages in vendor files
    • Review and reconcile AP Recon register to ensure all purchase orders with material received are paid in a timely manner
    • Review and resolve vendor statements on a monthly basis

    Accounts Receivable

    • Posts customer payments by recording cash and checks.
    • Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits.
    • Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
    • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers;

    Billing

    • Bill warehouse sales orders for all locations
    • Bill direct sales orders
    • Bill branch transfer orders
    • Receptionist Relief – daily lunch relief for receptionist and other times as needed
    • Customer Service Activities
      • Issues customer credits
      • Respond to questions from customers related to sales orders
      • Provide copies of invoices, credit memos, PODs to customers

    General and Administrative

    • Supports the corporate vision, mission and values
    • Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations
    • Compiles and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
    • Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
    • Participates as a team player by supporting operations as needed
    • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards
    • All other duties as requested by management
      • Provides relief for the corporate receptionist

    Position Requirements


    Formal Education and Certification

    • High school diploma or GED

    Knowledge and Experience

    • 2-3 years of accounting experience required.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and basic mathematic skills.
    • Basic experience with Excel.
    • Basic mathematic skills for calculation of discounts

    Physical Requirement

    Due to the nature of work assignments, incumbents must be able to perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraint. On a daily basis, the essential duties of this classification may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others on the phone and in the office; to see clearly from less than one foot to arm’s length with a good field of vision and to distinguish basic colors and shades of color. On a frequent basis, essential duties of the position may require the ability to climb stairs, to kneel and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items.
