Distribution Director manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Director utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Director ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Distribution Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Distribution Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. A major power distribution company is looking for a Supervisor of Distribution System Operations. This person will be responsible for safe and reliable operation of the Distribution Electric System and all associated distribution and substation assets.
The Supervisor coordinates and directs the activity of field employees and ECC distribution operators in the operation and maintenance of the company's distribution electric power system and gas system as applicable.
Additional responsibilities :
- Monitors and evaluates electric power system alarms and events, prepares, and initiates corrective action response.
- Provides direction and assistance to operations staff during electric and / or gas system emergencies.
- Evaluates reliability impact of planned maintenance outages. Reviews and directs the switching of company electric distribution facilities for scheduled inspection, maintenance, and testing to follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- As applicable, directs after-hours customer service trouble dispatch activity including the dispatch of field operations crews in response to electric and gas distribution trouble and emergencies.
- Schedules shifts and provides technical guidance and expertise to employees engaged in the operation of the electric and / or gas system.
- Develops and implements general operating practices, procedures, and methods that promote the safe and reliable operation of the electric power system.
- Directs, plans, documents, reviews and / or appraises the work of direct reports, provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action if required.
However, there is a nice 9 day off period per shift.
