Distribution Director manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Director utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Director ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Distribution Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Distribution Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary

    Provide support to the Health Information Management area by monitoring failed fax queues, processing proxy requests, daily fax distribution of results, processing incoming medical record requests via phone/fax, provide support and coverage to Health Information Management team after hours/holidays to ensure 24 hour/365 coverage of phone/fax and radiology editing requests.

    Responsibilities

    • Cover “on-call/call pay” shifts to ensure around-the-clock coverage for faxes, phones, and radiology editing. • Monitor RRD failed fax queue, research, and resend. •Research failed faxes, physician contact information (submit updates to various database owners). •Monitor / work applicable Faxination [currently 1385] inbox for misdirected results and reports that include “Not our Patients and/or Not our Providers” returned faxes; research and redistribute to correct provider. • Process and manually distribute results daily per departmental policies and procedures within established timeframes. • Process verbal and written requests for copies of transcribed reports for internal and external customers. • Call, fax, and redistribute reports upon request and document per departmental policies. • Monitor turnaround times and backlog to adjust workflow, call additional staff or take necessary steps to ensure departmental turnaround goals are met. • Communicate verbally and via e-mail with co-workers and management regarding departmental issues and changes. • Log and/or compile statistical information as requested by management. • Monitor Powerscribe radiology queue and transcribe/edit/code dictated radiology reports accurately, using knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and English language rules to the transcription and proofreading of medical dictation from .radiologists. • Cover or support HIM Results Distribution Analyst 1 as needed. •Additional duties as assigned.     Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations. 7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Perform related duties as assigned.

    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

    Education: Formalized training in medical transcription required

    Experience: 2 Years medical transcription in a hospital setting.

    Comment: Must meet testing requirements of 98% accuracy for transcription/editing of documents. Must score a minimum of 90% on the vocabulary section of the test.
