Distribution Director manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Director utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Director ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Distribution Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.   • Position Summary:

    The Director, Distribution provides strategic leadership and day to day direction for the Atlanta ASP Global Distribution Centers. This position is the key leadership role in ASPs distribution operations. The individual in this position must be hands on; capable of improving the facility performance and establishing an object, performance-based culture. A strong business acumen with an ability to lead and monitor performance across multiple facilities is required.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist the VP, Operations in establishing distribution budgets for the operation. Monitor performance and attain expense performance as budgeted.
    • Assist in establishing the WMS requirements to meet facility growth, service levels and qualitative targets.
    • Lead and drive facility culture to ensure a positive, respectful and collaborative environment. Maintain open communications with all associates in the organization and reinforce a positive approach that is focused on performance excellence.
    • Meet and communicate regularly with distribution team to ensure all personnel are aligned with organizational objectives and needs.
    • Establish distribution KPIs and maintain them, giving feedback on performance levels and creating benchmarks.
    • Coaches and develops distribution team. Monitors and evaluates staff performance to ensure performance is aligned with expectations.
    • Monitors and adjust facility schedules and staffing to meet customer shipment needs and company financial plans.
    • Ensures facility housekeeping and safety performance is maintained at high levels of performance.
    • Monitor carrier performance and ensure customer shipments meet service and expense level targets.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Four-year degree in business or supply chain related field or significant relevant experience in an applicable environment preferred. Applicable experience considered in lieu of degree.
    • 5 to 10 years of progressive distribution leadership experience in a high volume, distribution environment.
    • Experience in maintaining distribution center related expenses and attaining distribution expense targets
    • Experience leading a distribution team in a growing organization. Must have demonstrated success in building and maintaining a positive distribution culture. Experience developing management and associates at all organizational levels.
    • Experience in complex distribution environments, working with WMS systems and processes. Past project management experience in high volume operations and experience in organizing and leading WMS implementations is a preferred.

    Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

    • Excellent communications skills and ability to clearly communicate at all levels of an organization.
    • Excellent analytical capabilities with strong proficiency in Excel. Ability to analyze reports and determine appropriate actions to maximize operational performance
    • A strong focus on safety and experience leading organizations with an excellent safety performance. A no compromise attitude in areas of housekeeping and safety. Experience in 5-S implementation a plus.

    Physical Demands:

    Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed, may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods during the day, reaching above shoulder heights, below waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the day. The position may require lifting heavy supplies and office materials. Travel up to 10% may be required.
