Distribution Director manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Responsible for all parts sales and assistance to customers when inquiring about after-sale parts. To provide a high
level of customer service; to assist the account managers in all aspects of parts sales.
Essential Functions
Handle all marine parts sales inquiries received by phone, email, fax, and the web store
Research as needed and accurately prepare parts quotes; presents quotes via phone, email, or per customer requirements
Provide basic technical support as needed
Will coordinate with other resources, including engineering, production, and sales, to properly respond to technical requests
Works with supply change to verify parts availability and communicate accurate shipping dates to customers
Correctly enters parts orders into order system; works with supply chain to ensure parts ship as promised
Finalize sales by gathering necessary information, including payment and shipping instructions; communicates with
inside team members to assure orders are delivered on time; communicates with customer if any changes are
made that will affect final price or delivery
Compile weekly and monthly parts sales reports
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
1 -2 years’ experience in a customer service or sales role
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office; able to learn new software
Able to work independently but be a strong member of a team
Excellent math and communication skills
Preferred Skills
Able to read drawings and blue prints
Previous parts and service experience
Technical knowledge or background in manufacturing and/or the marine industry
Highly detailed orientated
