Role Overview:

As a Brokerage Operations Director, you will be instrumental in working with associates and the management team to set the direction and strategy of the Truckload Brokerage division

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Brokerage Operations Director, you will be instrumental in working with associates and the management team to set the direction and strategy of the department

• Develop and execute an aggressive growth plan while maintaining strong financial performance, driving new business development initiatives, supporting organic revenue growth, and developing Key Account Management
• Design and implement an organizational structure for the business unit, including middle management, business development, account management, carrier sales, broker operations, pricing, freight payment and brokerage technology, to meet organizational strategy
• Responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships, while also managing and implementing operational strategies
• Develop revenue growth opportunities with existing customers
• The ideal candidate will embrace a culture of learning which includes coaching, developing, and leading associates to deliver an exceptional client experience
• Responsible for identifying functional leads and selling logistics solutions through a consultative sales approach with a focus on Brokerage (over the road)
• Mentor and develop employees to achieve revenue, margin and service targets
• Run staffing for forecasted volumes and service levels and monitor clients' service experience
• Act as a liaison between business units, develop and maintain strong working relationships with key clients and business partners
• Provide effective coaching, employee development, attract and retain talent
• Leverage available resources to meet revenue, margin and service targets, support projects in alignment with company direction and manage high risk / exposure items

Required Skills & Experience:

• Progressive Senior Level experience within Freight Brokerage (10 years)
• Strong understanding of truckload brokerage technology and the freight market
• Commitment to drive quality and process measurement improvements in a fast-paced customer service driven business environment
• Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
• Ability to foster a highly interactive and engaged work environment
• Ability to influence others and interact with all levels of the organization and appropriate business partners
• Strong capability in building relationships, leveraging networks, fostering the development of a common vision
• Ability to provide clear direction and priorities and build effective teams
• Strong project management skills and experience
