• inspect both inbound product and slotted items for quality and condition.
• walk coolers and use reporting tools to identify aged, code dated and poor quality products in warehouse.
• assist in the ripening of bananas in the distribution center.
• inspect and grade or appraise agricultural commodities offered for sale to determine value and yield.
• verify information such as the manufacturer number, season code, plu/upc number.
• attend team and facility meetings.
• work with national commodity buyers to resolve problem arrivals including reporting quality issues and monitoring protection, tracking, and reporting losses.
• able to read and download temptales for proper reporting to vendors.

knowledge, skills, & abilities

• ability to write routine reports and correspondence to all buyers and wfp office
• ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• basic computer skills, including ms word, ms outlook and ms excel
• ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• effective oral and written communication, must read, write and speak english
• ability to perform physical requirements of position

• able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the distribution center, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
