Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Summary:
    Responsible for managing the accurate and timely receiving, slotting, loading, rotation, and replenishment of warehouse product that is brought into the warehouse and shipments to retail stores. This position is responsible for managing the accurate and timely selection of product. This position is also responsible for the correct operation of the sanitation functions and the inventory control function.



    Duties
    Insure the accurate and timely receiving of product coming into the
    warehouse. Follow up on rotation and replenishment of product and communicate any concerns to the appropriate receiving supervisor.
    Insure that all receiving paperwork is sent to the inventory control
    supervisor. Maintain consistency and correctness of product inventory.
    Insure the sanitation functions are operating properly.
    Investigate concerns from stores on poor load conditions, mis-shipped product, etc.
    Communicate with the Operations Manager on problems, progress, or concerns.
    Follow through with the requests and recommendations of the Operations Manager.
    Maintain adequate and accurate records for planning and analysis.
    Communicate with transportation on loading/shipping errors, backhaul
    schedules, and any changes. Assess supply needs for the warehouse and purchase in a timely manner.
    Work with buyers on procurement of product into the facility.
    Communicate with data processing to verify store ordering schedule
    changes or any late data orders coming into the warehouse.
    Insure that the proper cycle counting is taking place.
    Participate in the budgeting process for the warehouse.
    Recognize both good and poor performance. Counsel and document
    accordingly.
    Notify Maintenance Manager of maintenance needs of the facility.

    Understand, communicate, and implement company policies,
    procedures, and concepts.
    Work with Human Resources Manager to identify manpower needs and
    assist in the process for filling posted positions.
    Practice effective employee relations. Be sensitive to the needs and
    concerns of associates. Treat them in a fair and equal manner. Foster
