Distribution Manager jobs in Louisiana
Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum 3 years’ distribution center operations experience, supervision /management preferred
- Experience managing fleet of delivery vehicles
- Operate vehicles under DOT compliance
- Possess a valid regular driver’s license, some states may require a Class D license
- Insurable by Company’s insurance carrier
- Inventory management and cycle counting
- Proven customer service skills
- Ability to operate a lift. All positions that require the use of a lift, will be provided training to obtain lift certification
- Ability to become Smith System certified. Training will be provided by the company
