District Technical Service Manager manages an organization's technical customer support policies, objectives, and initiatives. Provides mentoring, leadership, and organization to managers and supervisors. Being a District Technical Service Manager oversees the creation and implementation of processes that maximize efficiency and meet or exceed service quality and customer satisfaction goals. Monitors and measures service metrics and volume to develop standards, improvements, or changes to workflows and resource allocation. Additionally, District Technical Service Manager makes recommendations for changes to products or services based on customer feedback and requests. Engages in resource planning and decision-making. Coordinates across functions to support future products and releases. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director or top management. The District Technical Service Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. To be a District Technical Service Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Purpose of the position


    The position is responsible for planning, prioritizing, and managing technical service activities; prioritizing tasks and assigning team members to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively and that customer service agreements are fulfilled; completing estimates for Shop and Field Service Technicians; ordering and maintaining parts to support inventory needs.

    Main tasks and responsibilities


    • Lead a team of Shop & Field Technicians and a Service Coordinator
    • Review and approve time, manage overtime
    • Expense reporting and approvals
    • Ensure that repairs, maintenance and installations are completed on-time, within budget, and according to customer requirements
    • Provide front-line technical support for technicians and customers. Handling service related customer complaints/Issues
    • Parts ordering and inventory control. Manage parts requests from technicians and customers
    • Develop, evaluate, and review technical service procedures and standards, and research, evaluate, and recommend new equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of the technical service team
    • Manage and develop District P/L, reviewing, forecasting, and budgeting
    • Optimize all activities to support budget. Monitor cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and customer satisfaction standards
    • Work with sales to manage installations
    • Assist Region Support Specialists with work order issues
    • Assist Service Coordinator with dispatching service techs
    • Complete building and equipment maintenance and inspections
    • Safety and 5S-Weekly Safety Meetings
    • 5S Compliance and sustaining
    • Customer visits and relationship development
    • Monitor and develop branch efficiency, productivity, personnel performance as well as fixed costs
    • Research and drive business opportunities within scope of strategy
    • Provide on-call service (24/7)
    • Ensure optimization of technicians
    • Manage daily billing and contract compliance
    • Track invoicing, review accuracy and approvals
    • Performance reviews and position requirements
    • Recruitment and interviews of technicians/support staff
    • Request new user equipment from IT
    • Other duties, as assigned

    What you’ll need to succeed


    Education:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • College degree preferred

    Working experience:

    • 5 years in a management role or equivalent experience preferred

    Skills and competencies:

    • Customer oriented attitude and proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships
    • Business mind-set, knows and understand numbers
    • Ability to lead and manage team work effectively
    • Results and achievement driven and eager to create long term relationships
    • High integrity and excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
    • Must be able to lift 60 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds
