Division Budget Manager directs and controls the budget and financial forecasting activities for a division, product, or business line. Leads the budgeting process for annual, quarterly, and monthly budget development. Being a Division Budget Manager develops budgetary policies and guidelines to optimize the budget. Incorporates past financial results into budget development. Additionally, Division Budget Manager monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Implements tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. May require a MBA. Typically reports to a director. Seeking a budget expert with hands on experience managing, producing and finalizing local government budget book in accordance with laws and rule. Experience with OPEN GOV or other budget software is preferred. Work with local government customer to assist them with building their budget process, reviewing their process to develop and recommend improvements. Train and assist their budget and operations team on properly utilizing the budget.
Interprets general and special laws in relationship to their financial impact on budget format along with restructuring of departmental activities to coincide with new legislative dictates.
Assist with the preparation and submission of reports required by the local government, Government Financial Officers Association, Florida Government Finance Officers Association, and federal, state, and local agencies. Also assist with the preparation of any ad hoc financial reports for revenue, expenses and reserves as requested by the local government.
