Division Budget Manager directs and controls the budget and financial forecasting activities for a division, product, or business line. Leads the budgeting process for annual, quarterly, and monthly budget development. Being a Division Budget Manager develops budgetary policies and guidelines to optimize the budget. Incorporates past financial results into budget development. Additionally, Division Budget Manager monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Implements tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. May require a MBA. Typically reports to a director. The Division Budget Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. We are currently seeking a Division Manager for our Barstow Division.

    The primary function of this position is to determine the allocation of duties for the Route/Shop Supervisors and Customer Service Manager by fostering a work environment based on teamwork and safety.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Responsible for fostering a work environment based on teamwork and open communication.
    • Organizes the division and determines the allocation of duties for Route/Shop Supervisors and Customer Service Manager.
    • Will be accountable for the overall service, productivity, and safety of the division and the lawful operating condition of company vehicles.
    • Monitors and controls administrative costs and oversees all functional areas.
    • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure the adequate hiring and training of all personnel.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Be able to objectively assess performance and listen carefully to all team members and establish strong and effective working relationships with people inside and outside the division.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
    • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to coach and develop subordinates.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
    • Ability to effectively interface with the general public, municipalities and regulatory agencies.
    • Personal energy and style to set an overall organizational tone of integrity, competence, inspiration, and optimism.
    • Be able to objectively assess performance and listen carefully to all team members.
    • Ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
    • Ensures location is in compliance with all regulatory agencies and statutes, including the DOT and OSHA requirements.

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Position requires a minimum of 7 years' experience in a management position involving transportation, operations, customer service, and safety.
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in management.
    • Previous experience in a transportation, waste industry, or recycling environment is preferred.
    • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
    • A valid California Driver's License required

    PHYSICAL:

    • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day
    • Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to operate a personal computer for long periods of time without experiencing abnormal hand, wrist, or eye strain.
    • Hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and on the telephone.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, snow, fog).
    • Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.
