Divisional Merchandising Manager directs and develops merchandising plans and operational systems to achieve financial objectives. Utilizes sales, research, and trend analytics to develop strategies for merchandise categories and optimize product assortments. Being a Divisional Merchandising Manager develops merchandise plans and pricing that support key strategic initiatives, launches, top sellers, seasonal campaigns, and trends. Partners across functions to manage vendor relationships, identify new vendors, and negotiate favorable contract terms. Additionally, Divisional Merchandising Manager requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, business or other related field. Typically reports to top management. The Divisional Merchandising Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Divisional Merchandising Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Description

    What Will I Be Doing

    This position will develop specifics plans and projects to ensure short and long-term growth in the geography assigned related to ensuring the superior execution of all Barcel programs. The DSM will be responsible for auditing commercial activities, such as execution, market saturation, strategic product plans and category penetration to ensure the growth expected. The DSM will need to influence the distributor partners on her/his territory to achieve the KPIs defined and also become a distributor partner’s counselor and assist driving the business with long term vision. She/He will implement the company's strategy at operative level within assigned territories/distributor partners, providing ongoing sales support and ensure profitable growth for Barcel USA. 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Possess strong analytical, presentation and leadership skills
    • Achieve regional sales operational objectives by developing and collaborating strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing Big Rock action plans; implementing productivity and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining regional sales goals. 
    • Responsible for the execution at the Point of Sales at the standards that Barcel has defined- Superior Execution always  
    • Meets regional sales financial objectives by optimizing portfolio P&L, governing expenses and point of sale material, driving net unit growth and item/market saturation aligned to the Business Unit sales plan.
    • Be the primary contact of communication between Barcel and our Distribution Partners.
    • Have the skillset and acumen to interact with Director level management, both internal and external
    • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and goals for distributor partners in support of national objectives.
    • Coach the assigned distributor partners on world class go to market strategies and execution
    • Initiate, build, and sustain Regional/District managers relationships for relevant accounts
    • Maintains and expands customer base; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
    • Negotiate, evaluate and audit goals and budget performance with internal Barcel team and distributors in the assigned territory
    • Conduct period business reviews with distributor partners to present commercial strategies and improve sales/KPI performance 
    • Align on National Initiatives defined by Corporate Offices and support them to ensure a successful program 
    • Coordinate with Account Managers and Distribution Partners to maintain in store and POG presence 365 days a year as well as other chain negotiated programs.
    • Coordinate and support Operational Sales manager on key topics like order placement through forecasting and market needs assessment. 
    • Monitor and Account for commercial strategy KPI’s
    • Assign trade marketing materials to the distributor partners in the area and plan for the execution of those.
    • Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
    • Provide feedback to KAMs of the different channels in regard to the business plans to increase sale of different brands.
    • Face Regional Accounts from time to time 
    • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

    Qualifications


    What Is Expected Of Me

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • 5 years sales experience in consumer goods, management, sales, negotiation, finance and team managing industry 
    • Proven DSD or relatable experience
    • Bilingual preferred, English (Spanish a plus)
    • Must be able to travel, domestic 50%
