    POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    The Documentation Specialist will work as an integral part of the contractor site AV-8 and other teams in Havelock, NC to support NAVAIR technical publication conversions.

    • Will be responsible for updates using MS Word and PTC Arbor text.
    • Using specifications, processes, and guidelines, this position will incorporate government-provided source data into technical publications to produce conversions and/or updates.
    • Responsible to organize material and complete reviews according to government-provided source data to ensure 100% accuracy.
    • Responsible to update established specifications, processes, and guidelines in order to continue meeting the established metrics for the project.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must have a minimum of two years of experience and have a proficient working knowledge of data entry and word processing (using MS Word, or comparable word processing or XML software), proofing skills with attention to detail, the ability to follow oral and written directions and processes, and be willing to learn additional software (XML authoring, graphics software, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
    • Technical publication and IETM experience specifically to NAVAIR MIL-STD-81927, MIL-STD-3001, S1000D
    • Military and/or technical publication experience using technical publications and IETMs.
    • CTPL experience
    • Writing, editing, or quality assurance of technical documentation experience using PTC Arbor text and MS Word
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to work 40 hours per week on a consistent basis.
    • Must be proactive, take initiative, and be able to work independently from an alternate location.
