Loan Documentation Specialist Team Lead

  • Responsible for ensuring the Loan Documentation Specialists Team provides excellent customer service to its internal partners by promoting positivity, communicating effectively, taking ownership, providing solutions, expressing empathy, exhibiting patience, and acting with a sense of urgency. Responsible for motivating, inspiring, and training the Team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages bonding of team members, and focuses on education and customer service skills. Coordinate, direct, and execute the activities and priorities of the Team and work with the Department’s Supervisor to ensure that department processes are running efficiently, employees are cross trained, and teams meet organizational production, quality assurance, and customer service goals.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the operations of the Loan Documentation Specialists Team by setting priorities, organizing workflow to ensure work is performed timely, accurately, and efficiently, and ensuring internal partner’s needs are met and expectations are managed
    • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Department and its internal partners on the regulations, laws, procedures, processes, and policies and effectively perform all duties as needed including:
      • Preparation of real estate and non-real estate loan documentation including promissory notes, security agreements, lien documents, loan agreements, loan modifications, and change-in-term agreements for commercial and consumer loans
      • Establishment of funding documentation requirements
      • Reviewing executed loan documents and funding requirements
      • Funding initial advances on loans
    • Maintain high awareness and involvement in Team in order to distribute work according to abilities and skills and workload in addition to personally performing all duties as necessary but especially when related to special circumstances and /or complexity
    • Ensure Service Level Agreements with internal partners are met with respect to all SME duties and responsibilities
    • Work closely and communicate effectively with internal partners and other teams to resolve issues and find solutions including consultation with Bank Counsel as needed
    • Train team members on policies, procedures, processes, and systems
    • Conducts regular team meetings to communicate department objectives are met and participate in internal partner meetings as appropriate and/or requested to foster communication between Bank teams
    • Assists in completion of annual staff evaluations and counseling when necessary
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assists with all duties and job responsibilities performed by the Loan Documentation Specialist Team.

    Experience Required

    • Strong knowledge of consumer and commercial real estate and non-real estate loan documentation requirements
    • Strong understanding of bank lending policies and procedures and compliance with laws and regulations governing lending.

    • College degree preferred
    • Possess a high degree of PC proficiency

    Experience

    Ten or more years banking experience with concentration in commercial and consumer loan documentation, including strong real estate loan documentation knowledge.
