Documentation Supervisor coordinates the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Collaborates with technical teams to prepare accurate content. Being a Documentation Supervisor reviews edits and approves the final content. Ensures that standardized documentation methods and tools are deployed and that required document control procedures are employed. Additionally, Documentation Supervisor monitors project deliverables and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of release notes, manuals, and online content. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Documentation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Documentation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. We are looking for a Technical Writer who will be a part of the continuous improvement of AMACO. The Technical Writer will be responsible for supporting and completing various projects enhancing the parts, process, and culture at AMACO.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write and edit technical documentation consisting of work instructions, reports, and presentations.
    • Understand how to read and write process flowcharts.
    • Able to review manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Ability to utilize Lean Manufacturing to standardize and improve processes.
    • Work with all departments to ensure the quality and accuracy of the content is upheld.
    • Create and maintain the information architecture
    • Manage the TWI Training System
    • Ensure documents are controlled, easy to obtain, and accurately filed.
    • Provide training for TWI candidates
    • Support TWI trainees through the process
    • Certify and maintain TWI Trainers.
    • Audit TWI system for adherence.
    • Determining best practice for extract data from all possible sources
    • Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, interpret patterns, and trends in complex data sets while ensuring data integrity.
    • Working with all departments to ensure data is utilized to drive process improvements.

    Work Environment:

    The main work environment is an office setting; however, there is a need for work to be performed on the manufacturing floor. Must have the ability to work in both hot and cold environments depending on the weather/season.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel:

    No travel is expected for this position.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Science or engineering field or equivalent experience
    • 3 years of experience in technical writing for production (preferred)
    • 3 years of manufacturing experience (preferred)
