Additionally, Documentation Supervisor monitors project deliverables and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of release notes, manuals, and online content. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Documentation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Documentation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Our CDI team is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to join their team at the plaza! You will be reviewing medical records for accuracy, educating health professionals on documentation processes, and participating in team meetings and projects. The ideal candidate will have previous medical/healthcare experience, be detail-oriented and comfortable working in medical records. Additionally, you must be comfortable communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Strong preference given to candidates with nursing or inpatient coding background. The ideal candidate would likely have one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, BSN, CCS, or CCDS credentials.
Job Description:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for reviewing medical records to facilitate the accurate representation of the severity of illness by improving the quality of the physician and mid level providers clinical documentation. This involves extensive record review and education interaction with physicians and other applicable clinicians, Health Information Management professionals and nursing staff. Active participation in team meetings and education of staff in the Clinical Documentation Integrity Program process is a key role.

Clinical Documentation Specialist will provide education to physicians and other health team professionals on clinical documentation issues within the healthcare organization.
