Documentation Supervisor coordinates the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Collaborates with technical teams to prepare accurate content. Being a Documentation Supervisor reviews edits and approves the final content. Ensures that standardized documentation methods and tools are deployed and that required document control procedures are employed. Additionally, Documentation Supervisor monitors project deliverables and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of release notes, manuals, and online content. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Documentation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Documentation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist serves as a resource to the clinical team and review medical records to ensure that all relevant conditions requiring healthcare resources are accurately captured to reflect the severity of illness and benefit patient care. The CDI Specialist will collaborate extensively with FMG providers, nursing staff, patient care coordinators and coding staff to improve the quality and completeness of documentation of care provided and coding for coordination, abstraction and submission of accurate data required by CMS. This activity will help improve the patient outcomes, data quality and lead to more accurate reimbursements.
