Documentation Supervisor jobs in New Bedford, MA

Documentation Supervisor coordinates the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Collaborates with technical teams to prepare accurate content. Being a Documentation Supervisor reviews edits and approves the final content. Ensures that standardized documentation methods and tools are deployed and that required document control procedures are employed. Additionally, Documentation Supervisor monitors project deliverables and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of release notes, manuals, and online content. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Documentation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Documentation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • To manage and maintain the integrity of the computerized medical record in support of compliance requirements, licensing/regulatory standards and patient care.
    Description:
    • Maintains Forms Inventory Database.
    • Collaborate with Information Systems following department procedures to create and maintain doctypes and to coordinate the creation of CPOE order sets and their downtime folder versions.
    • Follows department procedure regarding the CCH forms approval process, from beginning to end, for all Cape Cod Hospital facilities.
    • Collaborate with various clinical areas and vendors regarding new and existing forms.
    • Attends and participates in Medical Record and Forms Committees for Cape Cod Hospital. Records the minutes in the absence of the Lead or Manager.
    • Compiles monthly physician delinquent and suspension lists, reviews physician report deficiencies and sends restoration of privilege letters for Cape Cod Hospital.
    • Responsible for the overall maintenance of processes and documentation related to incomplete medical physician suspension policy in accordance with Departmental, Medical Staff and regulatory agencies requirements for Cape Cod Hospital.
    • Educates Cape Cod Hospital providers on how to access and complete their records in the EMR.
    • Serves as a liaison to assist providers with questions; resolves, and interprets documentation deficiencies
    • Tracks communication with providers as it pertains to needed documentation for coding purposes.
    • Researches, identifies and resolves duplicate medical record numbers.
    • Collaborates with management to review reports to ensure that documentation is filed correctly.
    • Serves as Department of Medical Record liaison within Hospital departments, physician offices and other Cape Cod Hospital facilities
    • Responds to requests for release of medical record information in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of computerized patient information systems such as Soarian Financials, Soarian EDM, and Soarian Clinicals.
    • Successful passage of basic Medical Terminology course OR successful passage of the CCH Medical Terminology exam.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • 2 years full-time continuous experience as an EMR Specialist or ROI Specialist within the past 4 years; or successful passage of the ROI/Documentation Coordinator test.
