Donor Research Coordinator jobs in Gary, IN

Donor Research Coordinator identifies potential donors and evaluates their interests and capacity to give to the organization. Conducts research and prospecting to locate individuals aligning with the organization's values and mission. Being a Donor Research Coordinator analyzes data for trends and creates donor profiles to assist with donor development, stewardship, and direct communications and fundraising strategy. Uses a database or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain research data and donor records, execute mailing or e-mail campaigns, and create reports. Additionally, Donor Research Coordinator maintains confidentiality and complies with data privacy regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Donor Research Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. You make it possible for people who are suffering with certain illnesses to have an opportunity to improve life because of our recovery process. This position recovers the following tissues: Umbilical Cord, Cord Blood, and Placenta.

    Essential Job Functions for Donor Advocate 1

    • All job-related information is handled in strict confidence in compliance with HIPAA.
    • To recover after-birth tissues for transplant and research.
    • Ensure timely transport of donated Cord, Cord Blood, Amniotic Fluid, and Placenta to the processing facility and/or research facility along with complete and correct corresponding documents.
    • Conducts self in a professional manner during all interactions with physicians; hospital staff; and families. Serves as a representative of Life Line Stem Cell (LLSC).
    • Performs quality controls practices as defined by SOP's designated processors and LLSC.
    • Develop a working relationship with the nurses on the L & D unit.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Use potentially sharp instruments (needles and scalpels).
    • Complete required training and readings to ensure compliance.
    • Ability to interview expectant mothers, and complete consent and maternal medical social history forms according to processor requirements, complete routine reports, and correspondence.
    • All Cord Blood Technicians are required to report to work according to your schedule for C-sections. If required to report early for a c-section the early arrival is approved, which eliminates the need to get approval from a supervisor when your hospital has an early morning C-section scheduled.
    • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds independently (equipment, shipping boxes) and larger weight with assistance.
    • Long periods of standing with minimal or no interruptions (up to 8 hours).
    • Ability to work irregular hours. Must be available for shift change to assist another hospital that has no staff, including morning, evening, and weekends.
    • Recover Umbilical Cord, Cord Blood, and Placenta utilizing aseptic technique to appropriately recover donated tissue for transplant and research. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with the current standard operation procedures (SOP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) American Association of Tissue Banking (AATB), and other applicable Federal, State, and Local laws.

    Non-Essential Job Functions

    • Perform all duties as requested and assigned.

    Qualifications:

    High school graduate or equivalent

    Some previous work-study in the medical or technical field preferred Some previous experience with sterile technique and procedures preferred.

    Requires transportation to arrive at all assigned facilitates on time.

    Ability to perform responsibilities acceptable according to the SOPs.
