POSITION SUMMARY:
The Donor Services Coordinator receives, compiles and tracks donor chart paperwork to create a Tissue Regenix/CellRight Technologies donor file. Ensures that incoming information received from Recovery Partners, Eurofins VRL Laboratories, and other outside agencies is handled in a timely manner to create and update charts for review queues. Reviews and assesses the chart information to determine Tissue Donor Eligibility based on First Review Criteria.
Ensures that the donor records are legible and in an order within donor file. Works directly with the team members to ensure chart documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner to expedite chart review for donor suitability/eligibility determination.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7AM - 4PM
Pay: Salaried - Based on experience
Location: On-site
ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides exemplary customer service to all callers for donor screening, recovery, and delivery referral/questions.
- Compiles tissue donor charts. Ensures that all required paperwork is present and legible as first review queue.
- Utilizes the first review criteria to assess the donor chart records and determine any initial illegible documents of the donor prior to moving the chart to the second review stage and communicates with team leads and recovery partners in a timely fashion of corrections required.
- Assist with tracking missing or unacceptable records through utilization of the Recovery Partner Pending List.
- Track donor shipping to ensure timely delivery of donor at organization.
- Follow all OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens safety guidelines.
- Receive and manage Unprocessed Tissue from the time it is received until it is released to processing.
- Maintain equipment utilized for storage of Unprocessed Tissue.
- Maintain a proficient working knowledge of AATB Standards, cGMP/cGTP, and the organizations Policies and Procedures.
- Provides relevant information to the team on urgency of findings if applicable.
- Enters data into databases.
- Assembles donor record file and maintains hard copy and scanned records up to date.
- When necessary, performs donor chart review according to second review criteria to support team members on meeting metrics based on daily operational needs.
- Participates in initial process development and identifies and participates in continuous process improvement opportunities.
- Effectively communicates with the Recovery Partners, testing labs, suppliers and shipping services and internal Tissue Regenix/CellRight Technologies staff as required.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Communicates well with people at different levels.
- Successful sharing of information with others while listening to and understanding their points of view.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- Must have validate driver’s license and must be maintained during term of employment.
- Must be available for on- call duties as assigned including after-hours, weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational and recordkeeping skills required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and social media platforms.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Periodic travel may be required.
- Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
- On-call after hours/weekends and holidays will be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Requires an Associate degree or Certification as a Critical Care Tech, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at minimum.
- One year of related work experience in organ, tissue or eye procurement may substitute for education. MUST understand disease processes and medical terminology.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience in a medical environment familiar with medical terminology such as EMT, Critical Care Tech, and LPN will be considered.
- CTBS preferred or must obtain within one year of employment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Duties may include physical effort; including the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., bending, squatting, reaching, or being on feet for long periods of time.
