  • General Information: Hitachi Energy is seeking Engineering Technician / Drafter for its Crystal Springs, MS location. In this role, you will be part of Mechanical Engineering team reports to Team Lead – Mechanical Design. The position requires the ability to run, create winding insulation drawings for external procurement as well as production drawings / documents to wind various power transformer windings and bills of material. The preferred candidate must be detail oriented and take ownership of winding design. The successful candidate should be able to work independently on projects to troubleshoot technical issues with minimal supervision. Your Responsibilities: Perform complex semi-technical work on development and production projects, integrating requirements with own understanding of the complete project. Construct component models, assemblies as requested. Understand the criticality of Transformer winding design, run program, execute with required results. Creating/ cleaning up drawings needed for supplier as well as production floor incorporating drafting, GD&T principles. Works closely with Electrical and Mechanical team members for winding insulation design. Ordering of Insulation material on time from various vendors and keep monitoring on procurement process. Actively participating daily Gemba meetings, taking feedback to improve engineering output, prepare and maintain records. Compile and correlate a variety of data, reduce data for analysis, prepare, diagrams, or parts lists and make recommendations regarding production procedures and. May work nonstandard schedules and/or at off-site locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions. May guide and assist less experience technicians. Your Background: High school diploma with 5 years of experience Associate degree in engineering with 3 years related filed experience. 2-5 years of experience in AutoCAD 2D and knowledge of any 3D modeling tool. Experience in drafting skills. Strong communications skill both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as work with other group or teams within the facility. Experience in the following tools is required: Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point, etc.) Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
