Objective:

We are looking to add a quality, enthusiastic, and hard-working team member to our EMG family! We are willing to train the right person who is eager to learn. This position will work to create digital shop drawings based on larger architectural work from our customers (General Contractors, Architects, & Engineers). There will be daily interaction with the Project Managers and procurement team to develop schedules and priorities.

Job Summary

• The CAD Drafter will draw from architectural prints and utilize project scope for a set of 2D line drawings, elevations, and specific details with surrounding conditions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Generates 2D digital line drawings and detailing work required to implement the fabrication and installation of heavy commercial aluminum storefront and curtain wall systems using BricsCAD software
• Verifies that information provided is accurately represented and all construction/glazing industry standard drafting standards are met
• Coordinates with Project Managers to create new and modify existing drawings
• Works on a communicated deadline/schedule to allow other departments to submit the drawings to our customers and move forward with procurement and construction
• Revises drafted shop drawings per each Project Manager’s direction; all revisions must be completed with remarkable attention to detail and within a timely manner
• Performs tasks which are both meticulous and detail oriented
• Adheres to procedural changes and requirements set by department supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Interested and eager to learn CAD, blueprint drawings, and the construction industry
• Experience in reading blueprints or CAD drafting (desired)

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• May need to reach overhead
• May need to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Position Type: Full Time (40 hrs/week); M-F Day Shift; No travel required

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Wage (based on experience)
