    The Mechanical Designer/ Drafter will collaborate with the Engineering Department to design new product builds and support the shop with engineering needs using SolidWorks.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Collaborate with team members to identify customer requirements and develop product design concepts.
    • Use CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings of new products and components.
    • Iterate on designs based on feedback from testing and validation processes.
    • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs and ensure they meet performance, safety, and reuse requirements.
    • Identify and resolve design issues or concerns through analytical methods.
    • Research and evaluate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize product performance, cost, and manufacturability.
    • Communicate project status, milestones, and technical information effectively to the Director of Engineering and other stakeholders and team members.
    • Streamline the product development process by leveraging proven designs and engineering solutions when appropriate.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education level: High School or Equivalent

    Experience: 1 Years of product development experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

    Hard Skills:
    -Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
    -Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    -Familiar with SharePoint or other EDMS

    Preferred Qualifications

    Education Level: Associate Degree in Drafting, CAD Design, SolidWorks, and/or other engineering design programs of study or related field.

    Experience: 2 years product development experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

    Soft Skills:

    - Effective time-management skills
    -Well organized and detail oriented
    -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $23.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
