Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for two (2) Drafting Technician opportunities for our customer in Oak Ridge, TN for the Y-12 National Security Complex.

Clearance Requirement:

• Due to nature of work, Q clearance is preferred but not required as long as candidate can obtain one.

Position Overview:

Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time design drafting support in Y-12 Facility Design for facility and production area activities needed to expedite the closure of Change Requests for Configuration Managed Systems that have been returned to service for longer than 90 days. The responsibilities for the designer are:

Assist in the development of design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed within the Mission Engineering organization by drafting personnel are diagrams, schematics, details, plans/sections, elevations, isometric sketches etc. for engineering drawings and engineering instructions.

Requirements:

Education:

• Requires an accredited Associate degree in an Engineering discipline or other technical field plus 6-10 or more years of relevant experience.
• Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Must be willing to work in a production environment.
• Works with multiple engineering disciplines to produce timely design output.
• Extensive experience with MicroStation V8i or other closely related CAD drafting platform.
