Drafting Supervisor supervises a team within an organization's computer-aided design (CAD) department. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of drafters and other employees working on design projects. Being a Drafting Supervisor ensures deadlines, goals, and production standards for the department are met. Analyzes data and reviews drawings/plans to ensure quality of work and project feasibility. Additionally, Drafting Supervisor reviews project results and makes recommendations for improvement. Provides CAD technical support and develops solutions. Uses knowledge of the field to keep the department's software, techniques, and tools up to date. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Drafting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Drafting Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. YOUR LIFE AS A CAD DRAFTING PRODUCTION DESIGNER
This drafter position has a typical schedule of 8 am - 5 pm.
As a CAD Drafting Production Designer, you have the important job of reviewing architectural drawings to assess and improve designs for production. Working in AutoCAD, you interpret renderings, revising as needed to reflect changes to architectural drawings. You enjoy the challenge of working both in 2D and 3D to capture the intricate visual aesthetics of each design.
Navigating AutoCAD comes easily to you, and your extensive knowledge of xrefs, viewports, and blocks enables you to create detailed sets of shop submittal drawings. An excellent communicator, you collaborate with other team members within our engineering department. You're proud that your precise work provides accurate information that results in successful millwork manufacturing!
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Excel
Experience in the millwork, carpentry, or construction field is preferred. A mechanical aptitude is a plus! Based on experience, we are willing to train the right candidate.
