Drilling Operations Director directs and oversees the drilling, production, and engineering operations for an organization. Oversees all aspects of planning and executing drilling projects, developing oil and gas fields, and analyzing reserves. Being a Drilling Operations Director is responsible for directing revisions or enhancements to troubleshoot and solve drilling problems. May coordinate drilling contractors and production managers/superintendents. Additionally, Drilling Operations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Drilling Operations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Drilling Operations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     UCT is seeking and experienced and motivated Director of Operations to join our team in Scarborough, ME!

    The Director of Operations provides leadership and oversight over operations and implementation of policies and procedures; sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with UCT business needs and strategies; responsible for overall management to achieve customer satisfaction.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Organizational Planning

    • Facilitates the development, maintenance, and monitoring of organizational plans.
    • Consistently demonstrates the ability to act swiftly to continuous change and challenges.
    • Ensures clarity, understanding, and commitment from all stakeholders.
    • Responsible for the development and management of integrated, strategy-aligned departmental work plans.
    • Lead, coach, and performance manage and communicate to all levels, but specifically direct reports to meet UCT’s strategies.

    Management Accountabilities

    • Directs all aspects of Operations including effective administrative management, financial management and reporting, information technology, facilities, and human resource management.
    • Set direction and lead operations to ensure teams meet and support UCT strategies.
    • Responsible for the development and management of the annual operating and capital budgets.
    • Creates and drives explore alternative methods of doing business, managing budget, cost, and business need.
    • Responsible for supporting the COO and other executives/directors in all aspects of business growth specifically through strategic and operational planning guidance and by ensuring that required infrastructure and support services are in place.
    • Participates in function and cross-function meetings representing functional needs and concerns.

    Business Accountabilities:

    • Develop effective management tools to support the required operational activities and financial outcomes.
    • Accountable for multiple departments achieving goals and objectives.
    • Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Decisions and actions impact fundamentally how UCT operates and have a critical impact on corporate financial results.
    • Interprets a variety of instructions from various sources. Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated leadership roles in previous positions desirable.
    • Excellent public presentation and interaction skills.
    • Uses judgment to resolve politically sensitive roadblocks.
    • Strong knowledge of the semiconductor/capital equipment industry and financial management.
    • Well-developed problem-solving skills, including the ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and successfully devise and implement appropriate, cost-effective solutions.

    Educational/Certification Requirement:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred, in Business Administration, Engineering, or Finance.

     Experience Requirement:

    Work Experience:

    • 15 years of related experience in a fast growth-oriented semiconductor/capital equipment organization.

    Management Experience (for people manager job only):

    • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in semiconductor/capital equipment/manufacturing operations environment including technology development and operational improvement.
