Drilling Operations Director directs and oversees the drilling, production, and engineering operations for an organization. Oversees all aspects of planning and executing drilling projects, developing oil and gas fields, and analyzing reserves. Being a Drilling Operations Director is responsible for directing revisions or enhancements to troubleshoot and solve drilling problems. May coordinate drilling contractors and production managers/superintendents. Additionally, Drilling Operations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Drilling Operations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Drilling Operations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Blue Force Gear, Inc.
Director of Operations oversees and directs operation of all production areas, including subcontractors, to ensure the volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop overall production schedules, materials, and resource requirements to meet short and long-term production goals.
Major Responsibilities- Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, procurement, performance, and quality of standards are consistently met
- Oversees subcontractor relationships, quality, and standards
- Develops and instruct on KPIs
- Monitors production metrics to identify and resolve issues incentivize success
- Leads production, procurement, purchasing, quality control team leaders
- Develops process improvements and best practices
- Assists VP of Operations with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology
- Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills
- Deliver progress and production reports to executive team members as requested
- Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout
- Plans maintenance, turn arounds, downtime for efficiency and speed
- Complies with all safety and health regulations
- Other duties are required
Educational Requirements:- A Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business management, or equivalent
Previous Experience:- 5 years of managerial experience overseeing multiple teams
- 10 years of industrial experience at supervisor level

- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing best practices
- Lean Six Sigma/6S lean
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to achieve goals/KPIs
- ERP software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
- Ability for some occasional travel.
