SUMMARY
Stella Maris seeks a Maintenance Specialist to maintain the cleanliness of our facilities. Within this role, you will perform various cleaning and sanitation tasks with little supervision. Our reputation begins with what our visitors see first upon arrival therefore this is a key role in the future growth of our organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the Detox and Residential facilities
· Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers, countertops, and sinks.
· Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area and day room area.
· Assist detox technicians in flipping beds and changing linens and preparing the room for new admission immediately following all discharges
· Washing windows as needed or on a set schedule monthly.
· Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping general areas, client rooms, and staff offices in the detox unit and admissions department as necessary.
· Collaborating with detox, technicians to sort, fold, wash, load, and unload laundry as needed.
· Keeping bathrooms and supply areas stocked with paper products, and hand soap. Clean mirrors and other glass surfaces as needed.
· Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste properly on site.
· Monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed
· Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements to the Director of Facilities and Operations.
· Cleaning up food, drink, and accidental spills as they occur throughout the scheduled shift.
· Adhere to a cleaning schedule designed to touch each area of the building on a daily or weekly basis and ensures sanitation and safety of all staff and clients.
· Assists in examining for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to Facilities Manager
· Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
· Two years of experience working in a hospital, nursing home or residential facility a plus
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
· Detail-oriented and thorough
· Ability to keep the facilities clean and orderly
· Ability to interact with staff, clients and visitors while remaining professional, polite, and courteous
· Must pass a background check and drug test
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods standing and walking
· Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time
· Must be able to tolerate working with cleaning solutions
