Job Summary:
Alcohol and Drug Services is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an Associates Degree in Accounting/ strong background working in accounting an proficient in various accounting software programs such as Blackbaud or Sage. Experience in the health care industry is a plus. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors or internal departments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Prepare and analyze various reports related to accounts payable as needed
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or related field
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Blackbaud, Kronos, Sage, or similar systems
- Knowledge of government accounting principles is a plus
- Strong understanding of debits and credits
- Previous experience in non-profit accounting is a plus
Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
