The Water Quality Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Permit Coordinator and Information Specialist (Environmental Specialist 3) position. This position is located in our Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
Join us as a key partner in the collective effort to protect the waterways and beautiful communities here in Washington state! In this role, you will provide essential data and administrative support for individual and general permits within the Industrial and Municipal Units of the Water Quality Program. You will utilize existing databases and emerging technology to track, manage, and analyze permitting throughout the Central Region. Collaboration is key as you will work closely with unit staff and engage with regulated entities and the public to develop and manage databases for a dynamic permitting process. You will track engineering projects, permit development, permit submittals, and play an integral role in the public noticing and commenting process of permitting.

You will play a pivotal role supporting both the Industrial and Municipal Units in the Water Quality Program’s Central Region Office. Permits issued by these units are critical to protecting and maintaining water quality, fostering growth in our state, and keeping our communities healthy and thriving!
