Being a Drywall Installer may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Drywall Installer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Physical: Extended periods of kneeling, bending, standing, and stretching are required. Heavy equipment often must be moved back and forth while working. Stamina and dexterity are essential to this role. The ability to climb ladders, work off ladders, and be within ladder weight restrictions is required. Must be able to regularly lift and/or pull up to 75 lbs.
Dress Code: For safety purposes, must wear well-fitting work pants/jeans and an assigned Optiline shirt. Sturdy steel toe boots/sneakers and any necessary safety gear (gloves, goggles, masks) on-site is required. Must be clean-shaven (a requirement for respirator use), well-groomed and hygienic. Protection is a high priority of all drywall framers, so safety equipment like gloves, goggles, and masks are always used.
Environment: The job functions are primarily carried out at off-site locations at residential homes and commercial properties. The noise level is usually moderate, but loud equipment and construction-type sounds occur. This position works primarily indoors. Adherence to all OSHA and Optiline safety practices and procedures is tremendously important.
