Drywall Installer plans, installs, and repairs drywalls to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts, and movable partitions in residential and commercial areas. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Drywall Installer may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Drywall Installer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. With more than 20 years in the business, our company specializes in new home construction and remodels, mostly in the north county area of San Diego. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years installing drywall in a professional construction environment and is able to work independently while also communicating well with other team members on site.

    The starting pay range for this position $20-$23 per hour. Health benefits are offered after six months of employment. Our selected candidate will have a valid driver’s license, speak English, have a vehicle to get to job sites, possess good reading and basic math skills and is experienced with using power tools and other tools of the trade.

    Duties Include:
    • Establish the amount of materials required for the project.
    • Measure with accuracy, cut and tape drywall panels for both walls and ceilings; accounting for doors, windows, lighting fixtures and electrical outlets.
    • Installation of drywall panels to wood or metal studs (including insulation).
    • Use of drywall compounds to disguise joints, screws, nails and other imperfections prior to sanding.
    • Experience with creating textured surfaces.
    • Flexibility to perform other related duties as required.
