Being an EAP Counselor requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to a manager. To be an EAP Counselor typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. - Utilize evidence-based practices in counseling sessions
- Collect and analyze data to monitor client progress
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling or related field
- Eligible for Medicaid reimbursement
- Experience working with individuals with autism or behavioral health issues
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis and billing purposes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Skills:
- Data collection and analysis for treatment planning
- Patient assessment and evaluation skills
- Knowledge of behavioral health theories and interventions
- Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques and modalities
- Familiarity with medical record documentation standards
- Crisis intervention skills for handling emergency situations
- Understanding of Christian counseling principles (if applicable)
