The Vocational Counselor will develop and write the Prevocational Staff Action Plans and ISP Programs to address the individual’s Prevocational Valued Outcome. The Vocational Counselor assists the individuals on a day-to-day basis, providing training and supports as outlined in each person’s Life Plan. In this position you will be our vocational ambassador representing the services that we can provide for individuals enrolled in our program.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in psychology, sociology, education, human services, or related field. One year of experience in programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in vocational/industrial settings.
LANGUAGE SKILLS/REASONING ABILITY
Must possess excellent verbal and analytical skills. Must be a team player.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar or line graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have excellent computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
