Onsite EAP Counselor: The Contract Onsite EAP Counselor is responsible for providing Employee Assistance services as an onsite EAP counselor for a prominent Carelon Behavioral Health customer. This position supports the client's Bakersfield, CA campus.
Job Description: Onsite Employee Assistance Counselor working in our client’s Bakersfield, CA office provides counseling, assessment and referral, supervisory and management consultation, criticalincident response and employee trainings. The onsite counselor also keeps client records in a computer-based tracking system.
o Valid CA Clinical License
o Experience working as an internal or external EAP provider
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Group presentation and public speaking skills
o Intermediate computer skills, must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products
o Adheres to state and federal licensing regulations for record maintenance, retention and release.
o Promotes EAP access to care by offering timely appointment scheduling or coordinating outside referrals as needed.
o Remains abreast of relevant regulatory and legislative developments impacting EAP practice.
o Supports Employee Assistance Program (EAP) service department by responding to initial customer contacts and request for services; receives client request, assesses situation, determines appropriate course of action.
o Provides telephone and/or on-site support for crisis intervention, assessment, short term problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).
o Manages Critical Incident Response requests
o Provide trainings and webinars on a variety of EAP and behavioral health topics
o Promotes EAP support for the client company: Acts as an ambassador for the EAP program at the designated site location through promotional activities and relationship building with key site contacts.
o Assesses members and assists members in accessing behavioral healthcare benefits available under their health plan.
o Applies specialized knowledge in substance abuse, domestic abuse, grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.
o Provides employer consultation to supervisors, managers, and Human Resources of the EAP contracted organization.
