    Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

    Position Summary:
    The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community, and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population.

    As a member of the End User Services team, the EDP Systems Analyst II provides technical hardware/software support for client computers and other technologies within MassBay. This individual provides courteous, timely, and effective assistance to students, faculty and staff, including classroom, lab, and event support. Areas of responsibility are the Framingham and Wellesley Hills Campuses, and the Ashland Technology Center.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties: *

    • Monitor and resolve IT help desk ticket requests and incidents;
    • Support computers and peripheral equipment using a variety of operating systems and applications;
    • Maintain and install all software applications related to MassBay computing;
    • Support college-wide and multi-campus audiovisual services in classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditorium;
    • Perform routine computer, printer, and peripherals maintenance;
    • Provide computer software and hardware orientation for students, faculty, and staff;
    • Make necessary adjustments and/or arrangements for outside repair as needed;
    • Perform System Administration for Adobe Cloud, Deployment and Inventory, and Web Conferencing solutions;
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend computer hardware and software requirements;
    • Train FTE EDP II Analysts, Part-Time and Student Workers;
    • Perform Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in electronic data processing, of which (B) at least one year must have been in work in which the major duties included computer systems analysis, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

    SUBSTITUTIONS:

    I. An Associate's degree with a major in the field of data processing or computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*

    II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in the field of data processing or computer and/or information science may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*

    III. A diploma for completion of a two year full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized non-degree granting business or vocational/technical school above the high school level with a major in the field of computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*

    IV. An official transcript from a recognized business or vocational/ technical school as evidence of completion of a program consisting of at least 650 hours of instruction in the field of computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.

    V. Graduation from the data processing course of a recognized vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.

    • Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

    NOTE: No substitution will be allowed for the one year of the required (B) experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;

    • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
    • Experience troubleshooting computers and audiovisual equipment;
    • Experience working in a multi-user environment supporting users at different levels;
    • Previous operating systems experience such as Windows 10, and Mac OS;
    • Previous experience maintaining and troubleshooting software applications and PC hardware;
    • Previous experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS);
    • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.

    Salary Range: *AFSCME Unit I, Grade 23 Step 1 $70,942.04 annually. Appointments from outside the bargaining unit begin at Step 1 of the range.
