EDP Auditor evaluates data processing systems and operating procedures in accordance with established corporate standards for efficiency, accuracy, and security. Determines and recommends improvements in current standards and the implementation of system changes. Being an EDP Auditor provides management with results of audits on applications, systems and programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, EDP Auditor typically reports to a manager. The EDP Auditor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. SUMMARY
Conducts audits for management to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of operations by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
· Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts including guest transactions not posted
during the day by the front office cashier
· Processes guest charges voucher and credit card vouchers
· Posts guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the front office cashier
· Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts
· Verifies all account postings and balances
· Monitors the current status of coupons, discounts and other promotional programs
· Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages and other front office statistics
· Prepares a summary of cash, check and credit card activities
· Summarizes results of operations for management
· Summarizes and compiles daily information for the hotel's financial records
· Prepare an End of day procedure
· Run End of day process in property management software (PMS)
· Understand principles of auditing, balancing and closing out accounts
· Knows how to operate PMS, typewriters and other front office equipment
· Understands how to perform check-in and check-out procedures
· Checks front office accounting records for accuracy
· Function as a front desk agent especially in terms of check-in and check-out procedures

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
University degree from a Hospitality related program preferred
Knowledge of Maestro system would be an asset
Previous experience with computers would be an asset
Previous experience in a service related position would be an asset
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal.
Additional languages spoken would be an asset.
