EEO Specialist administers programs that promote employee and vendor diversity. Ensures compliance with internal polices and external diversity regulations. Being a EEO Specialist fosters knowledge and adoption of diversity, equity, and inclusion topics and best practices. Ensures organization employs strategies to attract, develop, and retain members of underrepresented groups. Additionally, EEO Specialist compiles statistics, metrics, and reports to assess the progress and effectiveness of diversity initiatives. May be responsible for delivering diversity training. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EEO Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. - Must be able to travel to various schools and offices within the Fairbanks North Star Borough. While driving on district business, must hold a valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and registration.

Job Summary: The Employment and Educational Opportunity Specialist develops, implements, and ensures compliance with Title II, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504, and other equal opportunity laws at the state and federal levels. In serving as the Title IX investigator and coordinator this position assists the office of the assistant superintendent in receiving and investigating complaints of discrimination and harassment related to students to determine violations of policies; making recommendations for findings and resolutions; assisting with the protocols and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal laws and board of education policy.
Salary: Grade 7: $75,895.46 - $106,594.38 DOE
Work Day: 8 hours per day
Work Year: 10 months
Bargaining Unit: Non-Represented
