EEO Supervisor supervises affirmative action programs to ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity (EEO) requirements. Collaborates with management to develop diversity recruiting and retention initiatives. Additionally, EEO Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes.     WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Hydro Supervisor in our Necedah, Wisconsin location.

    Job Responsibilities

    The Supervisor performs the following duties:

    • Responsible for operations, maintenance and minor construction projects at the hydro plants assigned so as to provide safe, economic, and reliable electric generation.
    • Accountable for directing employee work activities and completing assigned objectives within time and budgetary limitations and in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with accepted Business Unit, industry and environmental practices.
    • Engagement in, and adherence to, business unit Work Management Practices as it relates to planning, scheduling, execution of work, documentation, and CMMS use.
    • Engagement in and adherence to business unit Operational Excellence.
    • Maintaining operational compliance of the facilities.
    • Works with individuals to develop training plans, establishes and manages performance expectations, conducts performance appraisals, coaching/counseling, and administers discipline.
    • Develop work group bench strength by supporting and modeling an environment and expectation of continuous growth and development through effective use of talent management tools, processes, and resources.
    • Participate in the development and execution of capital and O&M budgets and plans.
    • Procure materials and services to maintain and operate the generating facilities.
    • Responsible for establishing and maintaining plant operating and maintenance procedures.
    • Develop and maintain positive community relations and a positive company image through interactions with landowners, community, public agencies, regulators, industry groups, and other contacts associated with Hydro's facilities and lands.
    • Will at times be tasked with special assignments in addition to their core responsibilities that will challenge their organizational, communications and interpersonal relationship skills.

    This position is a part of the Supervisor and Sr Power Plant Supervisor Job Family, experience will be the determining factor.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
    • Five to 10 years' experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance or similar industry OR Five to 10 years' experience in supervision.
    • Ability to communicate with and establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, union representatives and plant management.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Knowledge and/or experience in electrical theory
    • Mechanical maintenance practices
    • Hydro plant operations
    • Safety for high voltage electrical equipment and electrical control systems
    • Advanced course work in engineering, electrical or mechanical technology, or related disciplines is considered a plus.
    • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
    • Successful candidates must be able to work on multiple projects/priorities and demonstrate the ability to learn.
