Overview

Sunriver Resort is hiring a Personal Trainer for our Sage Springs Club and Spa! Sage Springs Club is a full-service state-of-the-art athletic facility. The club provides everything from yoga and fitness classes, tennis and pickleball to an indoor lap pool, hot tubs and much more in our modern athletic facility.   The Personal Trainer is responsible for performing Personal Training sessions and private classes for the members and guests.  The Personal Trainer must be knowledgeable of all fitness offerings at the Club, hold current certifications and have previous training experience.  They must possess excellent customer service skills in order to provide the highest quality environment and instruction that will meet the needs of our guests in the area of health and wellness.The Personal Trainer will maintain the AAA Four Diamond standards.

The Personal Trainer will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Commitment, Open and Honest Communication. The Personal Trainer shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times and for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice 

Responsibilities

• Evaluates clients by having him/her answer all health history screening questions
• Ascertains if client must secure medical clearance (i.e., age over 64, high blood pressure, any serious injury, pregnancy, etc.)
• Develops and designs client specific exercise programs
• Educates clients on proper techniques to avoid injury
• Walks clients through exercise routine, ensuring total comprehension
• Demonstrates exercises/routines as needed
• Plays an integral role in client development and retention
• Monitors and tracks client progress
• Motivates and inspires clients to achieve their fitness goals
• Incorporates/supervises stretching routines into all exercise routines
• Keeps records of client needs and preferences and the services provided
• Teaches club fitness classes as required
• Promotes and sells spa services
• Ensures the privacy of all guests
• Assists with maintaining fitness equipment
• Refers guests with medical issues to their physician
• Assists with the promotion of fitness services at member/guest orientations
• Maintains a strong knowledge of fitness trends
• Performs Locker Room Attendant duties as required
• Regularly attends, participates in and supports trainings and meetings for the Club and Spa
• Creates new fitness classes and programming to keep members inspired
• Monitors the fitness machines and coordinates maintenance of the machines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid national certifications in personal training
• At least one year customer service experience required
• Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must be CPR certified
• Must have a strong passion for assisting guests in attaining their fitness and wellness goals
• Must have strong knowledge of fitness industry
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally and rarely 100 pounds (with assistance).
